APRIL 20TH, 2011

Every spring we get giddy with excitment thinking about the delicious veggies about to grow in our gardens.  Turning finicky eaters into bold, curious chefs is a big part of our work.  From sungold tomatoes to sugar snap peas, we’re pleased to share with you this resource list of Children’s Favorite Vegetables, suitable for growing in the Northeast and beyond.

We selected these veggies based on a few easy criteria:

  • Easy to grow (big seeds, tolerant growth habits, disease resistance, etc.)
  • Amazing flavor (sweetness, buttery textures, snap and crispiness, etc.)
  • Gorgeous, surprising colors and genetics
  • Manageable space for small gardens
  • Seasonal options for schoolyards–emphasis on spring/fall veggies

We welcome your feedback and comments regarding our faves.  We appreciate your support of the seed companies we love (listed on the worksheet).  Good luck growing.
