Growing Chefs is seeking instructor(s) for a grade school math and science summer program at a school in Jackson Heights, Queens.  Qualified individuals with education background should email their resume and introduction email to Annie@GrowingChefs.org

Program Description:

The Young Scientist module (4 weeks total, dates below) consists of hands-on exploration projects in environmental sciences, kitchen chemistry and garden-based botany. Students will build their own terrariums, devise their own recipes, find out what makes food ferment, and connect directly to their food and natural sciences in the Garden School’s own schoolyard plot.

Program Dates:
Thursday, June 21st Orientation Meeting (4pm)
June 25th-July 6th (8am-3pm)
(No camp July 4th)
July 23rd-August 3rd (8am-3pm)
Payrate: $75/day ($1425 total).  Applicants who are able to take part-time positions within the program (ie Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays OR the first two weeks/latter two weeks) will be considered in partnership with other qualified applicants.
