This week, I joined food-not-lawns revolutionary Fritz Haeg, borough president Scott Stringer, and Growing Power’s Will Allen on New York’s own WNYC radio. The conversation, a two hour evening event led by host Leonard Lopate, can be found here. Fritz’s new book chronicles his own artistic efforts to turn lawnscapes into delicious, conformity-snubbing landscapes, and is well-worth the inspirational read. For myself, a rooftop; for Will, the possibility any abandoned lot promises. Will’s latest venture? A 7-acre farm in Chicago, not far from my sister’s apartment. Excellent!
